Soy Tempeh:

 

Classic soy based tempeh. A great source of vegetarian protein, tempeh is delicious in a multitude of dishes. It can be sliced, cubed (once thawed) or shredded directly from frozen to make grounds. Tempeh mixes well with lots of different flavours and can be marinated, then pan fried, deep fried, baked, barbecued or stewed.

Soy tempeh is nutty and mushroomy in flavour with a characteristic flavour which is distinct from tofu or other soy products.

 

Chick Pea Tempeh:

 

Unique to Culture City - Ontario's only producer of soy-alternative tempeh.

Tempeh mixes well with lots of different flavours and can be marinated, then pan fried, deep fried, baked, barbecued or stewed.

Chick pea tempeh is phenomenally chewy and wonderful in texture. Light in colour and with a milder flavour - popular among adults and kids alike! It's great as a veggie ground in tacos, pasta sauces or sloppy Joe's.

 

Black Turtle Bean Tempeh:

 

Unique to Culture City - Ontario's only producer of soy-alternative tempeh.

A great source of vegetarian protein, tempeh is delicious in a multitude of dishes. It can be sliced, cubed (once thawed) or shredded directly from frozen to make grounds. Tempeh mixes well with lots of different flavours and can be marinated, then pan fried, deep fried, baked, barbecued or stewed.

Black turtle bean tempeh is dark in colour and very savoury with a heavy "beany" taste. Great as stir fry strips or turned into tempeh bacon

 

Navy Bean Tempeh:

Tempeh mixes well with lots of different flavours and can be marinated, then pan fried, deep fried, baked, barbecued or stewed.

Light in colour, but similar in texture and flavour to black turtle bean tempeh.

 

Buckwheat/Oat/Sunflower Seed Tempeh:

 

Unique to Culture City - Ontario's only producer of soy-alternative tempeh.

A great source of vegetarian protein, tempeh is delicious in a multitude of dishes. It can be sliced, cubed (once thawed) or shredded directly from frozen to make grounds. Tempeh mixes well with lots of different flavours and can be marinated, then pan fried, deep fried, baked, barbecued or stewed.

This tempeh contains no beans at all! It's very different from bean tempeh, but can still be used in similar savoury lunch and dinner dishes. Cubed it makes super tasty, nutritious croutons. It can also be used at breakfast time and is great fried in coconut oil and drizzled with a little maple syrup.
